The After School Program provides academic assistance and teaches retail sales skills, horticulture and personal life management skills. The goal is to reinforce and further academic studies in a positive, hands-on environment. Self-discipline is taught through the game of golf. The program has been in operation since 1979.
Gerry Hazinski is the Education Director for the Chi Chi Rodriguez Youth Foundation (CCYRF). She and a staff of professional educators, specialists and volunteers are the mentors for students who are facing difficult family and personal situations at home.
Homework is always completed first with tutors available to help. Students work hard at accomplishing tasks and reaching goals. Guest speakers, ballet, drama, personal grooming, etiquette classes and golf are only a few of the activities integrated into a curriculum designed to encourage positive changes in self-image.

Most of the children that begin the program are uncommunicative, resentful, have poor grades, and poor attitudes. Gerry Hazinski believes the After School Program's primary goal is to teach kindness and build character.
