Volunteer Opportunities

We are honored to have the time, talent and treasures of our many Volunteers. To ensure that each volunteer is matched with the right position; please choose from the areas outlined below that you feel best fits your personal goals, experiences and availability.

FOUNDATION ACTION COMMITTEE MEMBER

• Meets every other month on the first Tuesday of the month from 6-7 PM at the Chi Chi Driving Range (February, April, June, August, October, December).

• The mission of the Foundation Action Committee is to participate in the Foundation’s volunteering, student engagement and community awareness efforts. 

• Members provide coordination and support for events and special projects.

CHI CHI ADVOCATES & AUCTION CONTRIBUTOR

• These are individuals of influence with resources and good ideas, committed to being called upon for consulting, contributing and volunteering for special events, special projects and in emergency situations.

• They are kept up to date of happenings through e-mail.

• The Auction Contributor commits to acquiring three (3) donated items to be used in the Charity Classic Auction in November. You are provided with documents to support your requests from businesses and individuals.

FIRST TEE - CLEARWATER VOLUNTEER

• Summer Camp Counselor Volunteer: Weekdays (Monday – Thursday, 9am – 1pm). Camp Counselors assist with set-up and breakdown of golf activities, participant check-in/check-out processes, mentor station assistant, golf coach station assistant, and safety monitor.

• Assistant Coach Volunteers: Weekday/Saturday Programming (Winter, Spring, Fall Sessions, 75 minute class times). Assistant Coaches assist with set-up and breakdown of golf activities, participant check-in/check-out processes, mentor station assistant, golf coach station assistant, and safety monitor.

WEEKLY OPERATIONS VOLUNTEERS

• Weekly Volunteers have a “work” schedule of eight (8) hours per week

• Duties are customer oriented and these volunteers will provide labor assistance, when needed in exchange for golf and sports complex privileges. Hours worked are recorded to earn golf privileges.

• Working Volunteers usually work for Education, Golf Operations, Special Projects, Development, or Grounds Maintenance.

“I volunteer my time with the Chi Chi Rodriguez Youth Foundation because I believe in the goals of the Youth Foundation and I enjoy being a part of the family.  I played the golf course growing up and didn’t know a whole lot about what the Youth Foundation was about until I moved back to the area after college.  I wanted to get involved in the local community and my father Scott Tobe was already a part of the Executive Committee so it was a natural fit for me to see what it was all about.  I knew a little bit about First Tee and the School that was on site but not enough.  As I became a working member of the Executive Committee I’ve come to understand how great the kids are and how great this organization is.  I’m proud to be a part of what is going on at this Youth Foundation and I look forward to being a part of the growth into the future.”
